Good News Fresh From Heaven (Frontier Thesis)
at Lower East Side Printshop Summer Keyholder Residency, New York, NY, 2026
“Good news fresh from heaven” was Johnny Appleseed’s alleged catchphrase, announced before reading from his Swedenborgian Bible. Introduced in classrooms across America as a folk hero representing the pioneering spirit and love of freedom of early Americans, Appleseed was in fact a strategic landowner who used cider apple nurseries to claim land rights.

Like seeds, pioneers, im/migrants, or good news, printmaking has to do with dispersal.
