Amelia Akiko Frank is an artist and writer based between London and New York. Rooted in the language of drawing, her practice unpacks how history, power, and national mythologies are symbolically constructed and aesthetically maintained. Positioning metal sculpture, dissected language, and spatial intervention alongside works on paper as forms of expanded mark-making, she examines the relationship between aesthetics and politics: repetition, erasure, and negative space allow formal relationships to emerge between disparate symbolic systems, while beauty, metaphor, and absence become frameworks for interfacing with contentious and contingent pasts.
